#FishersIN – October is here, the leaves are changing, and children are ready for fall break. The town of Fishers has planned a activities throughout the month of October for families, and I suggest marking them all on your calendar.
There are two more Movies in the Park slated for this month at the Nickel Plate District Amphitheater. All movies are free to attend, and will start at sunset. Bring your chairs, blankets, popcorn and hot cider and enjoy the following:
Friday, October 10- Muppets Most Wanted
Friday October 17- Hotel Transylvania
On October 18, get to know the Nickel Plate District a little better at the Nickel Plate Street Festival. Held on Maple Street from 1-5pm, learn about area businesses, enjoy street performers and live music. Located just east of the Fishers Train station and Nickel Plate Bar & Grill, Maple Street is in the heart of Fishers.
On October 24, bring your little ghosts and goblins to the Nickel Plate District Amphitheater for some early Halloween fun. The second annual Boo Bash will be held from 6:30 – 8:30pm with fun for everyone. Enjoy trick-or-treating and children’s entertainment, as well as raffle drawings. There’s no need to RSVP.
If you think you’re hearing the Fair Train whistle during these October weekends, it’s not your imagination. Instead of going to the Indiana State Fair, the Hamilton Harvest Train is ready to take you to find your own great pumpkin. Run by Hamilton Heights FFA, this train takes you to a pumpkin patch and working farm in Arcadia, Indiana. Board the train at the Fishers Train station and head north to the pumpkin patch. Enjoy about an hour’s worth of browsing the pumpkins, a hay-bale maze and face painting. Be sure to bring cash for the pumpkins and the concession stand.
October is going to be a busy month full of fun and celebrations in Fishers- be sure to join in on the fun!
