Attractions in Fishers, Indiana

by Cindy Paul

The growing town of Fishers, Indiana may be dwarfed by the bustling metropolis that is Indianapolis, but there are plenty of Fishers attractions to keep residents and visitors occupied.

A principle attraction for this growing Indiana town is the Conner Prairie Living History Museum. This is a unique reproduction of a pioneer community in miniature, where visitors can interact with the schoolteacher in the little red schoolhouse, the local purveyor at the General Store, or the local blacksmith, all in period costumes. Conner Prairie draws visitors from across the country to savor this unique experience of America’s heritage and is a fantastic place to bring Fishers children.

The Pinheads Entertainment Complex in Fishers is an all-in-one time of your life, encompassing all sorts of activities, including bowling, live Indianapolis music, swimming, and relaxing in the sports bar and the Fishers restaurant. This is a Fishers attraction that’s fun for both kids and adults, and is a great destination for a day trip from Indianapolis.

The Fishers Train Station is a regular destination for the authentic locomotives that take short excursion trips out of the Indiana Transportation Museum in Noblesville, Indiana. An ever-popular train is The Hamiltonian, which transports passengers to various participating restaurants around Hamilton County. Another favorite is the locomotive that shuttles Fishers residents to and from the Indiana State Fair.

In addition to the fun Fishers attractions mentioned above, there are always ongoing Fishers events and activities at the various Fishers Parks and Recreation facilities, as well as the Fishers Hamilton East Public Library. All in all, Fishers is an active, bustling place, rife with attractions.
