Fall into Fun in Fishers

#FishersIN – The air has turned cooler, but the town of Fishers doesn’t slow down because the weather changes. In fact, there’s just as much, if not more, fun happening in September. Between Fall Movies in the Park, a Glow Party like you’ve never seen before, and a scavenger hunt of sorts, families in Fishers will have no problem finding things to do as the leaves change.

Every Friday in September a different family film will be shown on the big screen at the Nickel Plate District Amphitheater. Bring your chairs or blankets, hot apple cider, and popcorn, and enjoy a movie under the crisp fall sky. Movies start at sunset.

  • September 12: Free Birds
  • September 19: Tad the Lost Explorer
  • September 26: The LEGO Movie

Another after-dark fun night is planned for this Saturday, September 13th, when the Nickel Plate Amphitheatre will be aglow during Glow in the Park. Be ready to play in the neon splash zone, and be sure to wear white to glow under the black lights. There will also be live music and face painting at this unique event. The fun runs from 9pm – 11pm, and towels are encouraged for the ride home.

The last weekend in September also promises to be a busy one around Fishers. On Saturday, September 27th, Try-It Day is taking place around town. Families will be able to experience many activities around town for free or a discounted rate. See a karate demonstration, learn about hot air balloons, try bellydancing and the sport of pickleball (what in the world?). Visit the Try-It Day page on the Town of Fishers website to learn more.

Held annually at Ritchey Woods Nature Preserve, this is a fun afternoon for the whole family. Pumpkins are provided, and participants are only asked to bring their own carving tools. The pumpkins carved during this event will be used to line the trails during October’s Halloween Hikes.

Month of September offers a variety of activities for individuals and families to enjoy in Fishers. For more details, pick up a copy of Fishers Town Talk, or check out the town’s website at www.fishers.in.us/.
